AIMC 2026 begins today

AIMC 2026 begins today in Berlin.

From 16 to 18 September, the 7th Conference on AI Music Creativity brings artists, researchers, technologists, and listeners together at the Musikinstrumenten-Museum. Hosted by Technische Universität Berlin’s Audio Communication Group and the State Institute for Music Research, this year’s theme is The Generative Turn: Mediated Musicianship in a Hyper-reproductive Age.

What happens to music-making when prompts, datasets, platforms, and intelligent instruments become creative partners? The programme moves between that question’s technical and human stakes: how artists share agency with AI, how new interfaces make models playable, how we listen to and evaluate AI-generated music, and how these systems reshape authorship, education, and performance.

Expect research sessions on co-improvisation, live text-to-audio performance, neural-synthesis interfaces, and music education; two hands-on workshops on improvising musical agents and composer-led computer-assisted composition; and three concerts of live audiovisual and AI-mediated music.
